Our first few days at Starfish School....

This week Miss bevan and I started work at Starfish school. We have been meeting the children and the teachers, they are all very nice. We have been into some of the classes to watch how the children work here. We went into the two "Jardim" (reception) classes and children were learning their numbers 1 -10 (um - dez).

In the older classes the children were learning English, so the children practised their English with us. They were very good! Lots of children can say "What´s your name?" "How old are you?" and "Where are you from?". Can you say something in another language?

Birthday celebration:


There was a birthday celebration, just like we have in Friday assembly at Two Mile Hill. Here the celebration happens once a month, it was very lively! All of the children whose birthdays were in February came to the front and were given presents from the school. They had a birthday cake and blew out the candles together.




The whole school was watching and they clapped and cheered. Some children had even made shakers (drink can with beans inside them), and were making lots of noise with them.
