The first two days in Rio de Janeiro

Well, we have been in Rio de Janeiro for two days so far. We have been to visit Christ the Redeemer, the statue of Christ on the top of a huge hill. The view was spectacular.

We also went to Sugarloaf Mountain and rode in a cable car to the top. Here is a pictue of the beautiful view. You can see Christ the redeemer in the distance!

In Rio there are two very famous beaches, Copacabana and Ipanema. Yesterday we visited Ipanema, it was very beautiful. Lots of people were playing volleyball and a sport called "futvolley", a mixture of football and volleyball. They kick and head the ball across the volleyball net.

We bought a fresh coconut from a stall and the man chopped it open with a machete knife! We drank the juice from inside with a straw... it was lovely!

I heard you have had lots of snow in Bristol. I hope you have had fun making snowmen!

I would love to hear about your fun in the snow, please leave comments and tell me all about it!

  4. Hi girls, I´m sorry that I have only just seen your message. Thank you very much for writing to me!

I have not been to Brasilia, it is quite far away so I don´t think we will have time to visit. I have heard that it is quite a modern city.

I am looking forward to seeing you all soon. I hope you are all enjoying school.
