During carnival in Olinda the crowd follows a group of musicians and dancers, called a "bloco da rua". When we arrived these groups were practising in the streets.

Carnival in Olinda
All over Brazil on 12th February carnival begins. Miss Bevan and I arrived in Olinda a few days before carnival started and we watched the preparations. Lots of people were touching up the paint on thier houses and repairing things so that the town looked at its best.
